The photographic series, My Pillow (Wanko-chan) features a soft toy dog called Wanko-chan*1, that always smiling and with its eyes closed appears in various positions on a print decorated with hearts, dreaming about Kaoru Katayama herself, in a recreation of scenes from the artists everyday life. This pining Wanko-Chan appears to fluctuate between the dream of a future encounter and the pleasure of recalling the object of its desire.
*1 Wanko-chan, literally, "little dog" in Japanese, is the name given by the artist to a dog-shaped pillow, just like the ones used in Japan to recline in front of the TV.
